This play held it’s own. The additional scenes outside the original movie were amazing. Je’Cayous did the city proud.

I wish it would have stayed longer. I actually purchased tickets for the Friday and couldn’t make it because I was returning from vacation , then I purchased a tkt again for the Saturday show. I wasn’t disappointed. It was fabulous the music, the truths spoken, the performances all together left the audience in amazement. Playsa re.my thing so this made my top 10 for the year.
All of the actors were amazing. Loved it. Would love to see it again and again and again.
Overall, I thought the show was good. However, I couldn’t help but think that Big Daddy Kane would have been a better Nino.🤷🏽♀️😁

Everything was great! Watching the play was just like watching the movie. Everyone worked so hard. Definitely deserves 5 stars.
New Jack City is one of my favorite movies and it was only right that I went to see the play and it was REALLY GOOD!!! The acting and singing was AWESOME plus I wanted to support brother Je’Caryous Johnson who wrote, directed, and produced such a great piece of work. If you have the opportunity to go see it, please do!
The show was amazing. Every character was spot on. The show really took me back to my childhood.
It was a true adaptation of the movie. All of the main actors were on point with the characters that they were portraying. Flex was great as Pookie and Treach was an awesome Nino Brown. However the real highlight was watching Allen Payne reprise his role as the Original G Money! Big Daddy Kane, Gary Dourdan and Duh Duh Man did a great job as well. The music was on point for the era. Very entertaining!
Great show! They did a great job re-enacting the movie
