A full house recently turned out in Houston for the live DVD taping of Je’Caryous Johnson’s hit stage play, “LOVE OVERBOARD.” The Johnson, along with his partner, Gary Guidry (both Houston natives) have transformed the world of urban theatre under the helm of their music and production company, I’m Ready Productions.
Colorfully candid and comedic actors gave “LOVE OVERBOARD” all the elements necessary to create one of the most unforgettable romantic comedy stage plays this year. The ensemble cast, included actors Khalil Kain (“Girlfriends” & Juice), Carl Payne (“The Cosby Show” & “Martin”), comedian Joe Torry, actresses Karen Malina White (Lean On Me & “A Different World”)and Tammy Townsend, (“Lincoln Heights), R& B Singer and actress Rhona Bennett, handsome singer Samson Logan, Grammy-nominated gospel singer Zacardi Cortez, as well as comedian Derrick Kenner and actresses Vienessa Castanos and Kelly Jenrette.
Whether you want to call it “The Love Boat” meets “Sex & The City” and “Entourage” or “The Love Boat” meets Ship of Fools, “LOVE OVERBOARD”, is a romantic comedy stage play that focuses on all the high energy high jinx and everyday hysteria that exists when men and women have their way, hook up and even have it out on the high seas. Produced against an immaculately constructed set created to rival any Royal Caribbean or Norwegian cruise line ship, “LOVE OVERBOARD” takes audiences on a high sea adventure where sexual healing becomes just what the doctor ordered and love will either save or spoil the day.
“LOVE OVERBOARD” will be released on DVD and available nationwide later this year.
