What’s Up, Everybody?
I hope that everyone had a blessed and prosperous Christmas, and I don’t mean prosperous in terms of material things. It is my hope that your holidays are filled with the richness of family, friends and rediscovering what really matters.
As I pack to head out of the country to work on a new project and enjoy quality time with my family, I had to take a moment and reflect on all the goodness around me. I’m surrounded by “things” I’ve acquired over the years, but my greatest joy does not come from anything tangible. It isn’t found in the latest gadget, or the designer clothes. I get my greatest joy giving back to my family. Like so many others, I didn’t come from a privileged background, but it was one rich with love. I remember one Christmas, after crying because we couldn’t afford the toys I wanted, my mother told me that we had something no amount of money could replace – each other. Over the years, I watched her struggle as a single mother and thought, “If only I could make life easier for her.” Well, God granted my wish to give the material things to my mother. And as much as her eyes light up with each new gift, nothing can compare to the light in her eyes when her whole family is together, when she’s talking about the love we share. That is priceless.
I know few of us have been immune from financial struggles in the past year, but God has great things in store for us all. Blessings are going to pour into your lives. Seeds that you have sown in 2011 will come to harvest in 2012. All you have to do is believe. In God. In Yourself. And know, that all things are possible.
We have been abundantly blessed over 2011, and as I reflect on all that I’ve been through, I can’t help but end this year on a theme that has been prominent in my life all year – gratefulness. I am so thankful for the fact that I have been blessed to do the things that I love, share my message of life, love and faith. But more importantly, I am grateful for the fact that I have been able to be a blessing to others.
As you move forward into the New Year and begin making your New Year’s Resolutions, it is my hope that you will remember to include goals that will not only encourage you to pursue your dreams, but that will also allow you to be a blessing to others. It is wonderful to receive all the joy that life has to offer, but it’s magnificent when you turn around and share that joy with others. So, be sure and spread the joy in 2012!
Until the next time,
Keep praying. Keep loving. Keep living. Keep playing.

A full house recently turned out in Houston for the live DVD taping of Je’Caryous Johnson’s hit stage play, “LOVE OVERBOARD.” The Johnson, along with his partner, Gary Guidry (both Houston natives) have transformed the world of urban theatre under the helm of their music and production company, I’m Ready Productions.

Colorfully candid and comedic actors gave “LOVE OVERBOARD” all the elements necessary to create one of the most unforgettable romantic comedy stage plays this year. The ensemble cast, included actors Khalil Kain (“Girlfriends” & Juice), Carl Payne (“The Cosby Show” & “Martin”), comedian Joe Torry, actresses Karen Malina White (Lean On Me & “A Different World”)and Tammy Townsend, (“Lincoln Heights), R& B Singer and actress Rhona Bennett, handsome singer Samson Logan, Grammy-nominated gospel singer Zacardi Cortez, as well as comedian Derrick Kenner and actresses Vienessa Castanos and Kelly Jenrette.

Whether you want to call it “The Love Boat” meets “Sex & The City” and “Entourage” or “The Love Boat” meets Ship of Fools, “LOVE OVERBOARD”, is a romantic comedy stage play that focuses on all the high energy high jinx and everyday hysteria that exists when men and women have their way, hook up and even have it out on the high seas. Produced against an immaculately constructed set created to rival any Royal Caribbean or Norwegian cruise line ship, “LOVE OVERBOARD” takes audiences on a high sea adventure where sexual healing becomes just what the doctor ordered and love will either save or spoil the day.

“LOVE OVERBOARD” will be released on DVD and available nationwide later this year.

When a married couple is ready to call it quits, they always want different things. Raymond Mays wants a divorce and Morgan Mays wants alimony. When the fed-up judge decides Morgan deserves it all, the two face off with each other, only to discover it s easier to keep her as his wife.

It’s a statement heard in salons and shoe stores across the country; echoed in barbershops and on the basketball courts. Finally, the answer is here. In his non-fiction debut, I’m a Good Man, You’re a Good Woman…Why Can’t We find Each Other?
